Portrait Series
The Portrait Series originates from Wagemans’ installation What Remains Beyond. Each thermal portrait isolates an individual from the larger collective, allowing the viewer to encounter the image as a work in its own right.
Through thermal imaging, familiar characteristics such as age, gender and skin colour become less distinct, shifting attention away from outward identity and towards what remains beyond the visible.
The portraits are printed on Hahnemühle Albrecht Dürer paper and presented in wooden frames with museum glass. Each work is available in a limited edition.
